Chief 735 Biography

​Chief- Nicholas E. Vazquez, NRP, MICP
Nicholas has been a member of the Independence First Aid Squad since 2013. Nicholas obtained his EMT in 2014 and has been an active member, holding numerous officer positions. In addition, Nicholas has served as the organization's Chief for the past Seven years. In January 2021, Nicholas obtained his Paramedic License and has since worked as a Paramedic for Saint Clare's Health System and St. Joseph's Health. Nicholas also serves as an Instructor for Saint Clare's and a Tactical Paramedic for a local County.

In addition to serving as the Chief for the Independence First Aid Squad, Nicholas serves as the Deputy EMS Coordinator for Warren County, Deputy OEM Coordinator for Mansfield Township, and a Level 1 Fire Instructor for Warren County Fire Academy. Nicholas is also a Firefighter with the Mountain Lake Fire Company and New Jersey Forrest Fire Service.

Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security, an associate degree in Paramedicine, and an associate's degree in Fire Science. ​
